UK Culture Secretary to Hold Talks on Maccabi Tel Aviv Fan Ban

Football Security Discussion

A police and crime commissioner from the central England region has called for an urgent reexamination of the ruling to prohibit Maccabi Tel Aviv's fans from attending the forthcoming game.

Simon Foster, who oversees the force, states that this request aims to verify whether the prohibition is appropriate, necessary, justified, sensible, and a proportionate measure to achieve a legitimate aim.

"This must include consideration of every and any possible appropriate, other choices," Foster adds.

He has additionally asked to examine the official ruling and recommendation from the safety committee, as well as the police assessment.

The commissioner underscores, however, that the final decision rests with the committee and the police.
