Missing key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure straight entry to the last 16, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This match provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second game in match.
A Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season proved outmatched even for a largely second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, indicating there is still scope for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
